Software.org works each summer with Girls Who Code to introduce a class of young women to the possibility of technology. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic will close our physical classroom – and open the program to a much wider audience!
In addition to students in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, the online classroom will be open to students to join us virtually from wherever you are. We encourage rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to apply now.

Software.org: the BSA Foundation is excited to work with Girls Who Code to help close the tech gender gap. Each summer, we welcome high school students to our Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program in Washington, DC. During the program, they learn to build websites, program apps, and more. They also participate in a mentorship workshop, learn about career opportunities in STEM from software industry experts, and meet with Members of Congress on Capitol Hill.
Software.org, which launched in April 2017, will continue the work of BSA | The Software Alliance, which has sponsored a DC Girls Who Code classroom since the program’s creation in 2015.
Software.org hopes to continue making a profound impact on girls interested in STEM and encouraging them to pursue careers in software.
