To kick off the 2020 Summer Immersion Program, Victoria Espinel, President of Software.org and President and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance, welcomed students to the program and shared more about Software.org’s mission to educate policymakers on emerging technology issues and support efforts to diversify the tech workforce.
“Coding teaches you a new way to think and that skill will come in handy no matter where your exciting career takes you,” Espinel advised the class. “Even if you decide that going into software and coding isn’t what you want to do with your life, I do think there are so many other careers where digital skills are going to be really important.”
