On July 9, Stephanie Bednarek, Director of Commercial Sales at SpaceX, visited the Girls Who Code classroom to share her career path. She explained the benefits of going into STEM from her perspective as an engineer and demonstrated how companies like SpaceX need people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to accomplish their mission. “Engineering is creative problem solving,” she told the class. Whatever the students choose to do with their STEM skills, Bednarek stressed that they would have plenty of options.
