Field Trip: The Importance of STEM Skills with Sen. Jacky Rosen

Girls Who Code class with Senator Rosen

On July 23, Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) spoke to the Girls Who Code class on the steps of the US Capitol. She told the students about how she became a computer programmer and software developer before transitioning into a political career. The students learned how Sen. Rosen’s tech background gives her the analytical and problem-solving skills to succeed in her job, what it’s like to work on Capitol Hill, and how they could use coding skills in a variety of different jobs in and out of the tech sector.
