Vijay Gurbaxani
Founding Director, Center for Digital Transformation, University of California, Irvine
Vijay Gurbaxani is the Founding Director of the Center for Digital Transformation (CDT) and a professor of business and computer science at the University of California, Irvine. He is an expert in the economics of digital technologies. His research and teaching focuses on digital strategy, tech-enabled business transformation, and the valuation of digital technology investments.
Gurbaxani’s experience in management education and advisory services includes having lectured worldwide on management issues, taught extensively in degree and executive education programs, and consulted for and provided research expertise to many organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, technology service providers, and leading consulting firms. He has been a visiting scholar at the business schools at Stanford and MIT and was a Research Fellow at Computer Sciences Corporation. Previously, he served as Senior Associate Dean and Associate Dean of the MBA program at UCI. Gurbaxani has a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, New York.
