Greg Morrisett
Dean of Computing and Information Sciences, Cornell University
Greg Morrisett is the Dean of Computing and Information Sciences at Cornell University, which houses the departments of Computer Science, Information Science, and Statistical Sciences. Previously, he served as the Associate Dean for Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and as the Director of the Center for Research on Computation and Society at Harvard University. Before Harvard, Morrisett was on the faculty of Cornell’s Computer Science Department.
Morrisett’s research focuses on the application of programming language technology for building secure, reliable, and high-performance software systems. Morrisett has received a number of awards for his research on programming languages, type systems, and software security. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and both his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.
