Vice President for the Government and Regulatory Affairs at the IBM Corporation
As Vice President, Government and Regulatory Affairs for the IBM Corporation, Christopher Padilla heads the company’s global government affairs function, leading a team of professionals in thirty-seven countries. Prior to joining IBM, Padilla served as Under Secretary for International Trade and as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Padilla also served as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick, and was an Assistant U.S. Trade Representative.
Padilla worked for more than fifteen years in the private sector, holding a variety of positions in marketing, business development, and government affairs at AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Eastman Kodak Company. Padilla holds both a B.A. and an M.A. in international studies from Johns Hopkins University.
